Rules for
entering the Guild.

Accounts and Membership

Some Fright Guild features may require an account, including official Evaluations, Dashboard history, member-only updates, future Society access, certain events, or launch notifications.

• You agree to provide accurate account information.
• You are responsible for keeping your login information secure.
• You may not create duplicate, automated, deceptive, abusive, or fraudulent accounts to manipulate participation or site features.
• Verification may be required before participating in certain Fright Guild features.
• We may restrict, suspend, or remove accounts that violate these Terms, interfere with the site, or undermine the integrity of Fright Guild features.

Fright Guild is not intended for children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should use the site only with any consent or supervision required by applicable law.

Evaluations and Audience Participation

Fright Guild may invite eligible verified members to evaluate individual projects or specific development materials, including concepts, titles, Key Art, stories, scripts, trailers, viewing intent, or other material.

Evaluations are intended to create structured audience intelligence that can help Fright Guild understand how material is being received. Projects normally are evaluated on their own rather than treated as head-to-head contestants.

• Unless Fright Guild clearly states otherwise, one eligible verified member may submit one completed response for each Evaluation.
• An Evaluation may include numeric ratings, multiple-choice questions, written feedback, viewing-intent questions, or other response formats.
• Fright Guild may use account verification, timestamps, technical information, response records, or other reasonable measures to prevent duplicate, automated, fraudulent, or unauthorized participation.
• Fright Guild may pause, close, extend, reopen, cancel, correct, exclude, or invalidate an Evaluation or individual responses when reasonably necessary because of fraud, manipulation, abuse, technical errors, data corruption, eligibility issues, or other circumstances affecting integrity.
• Evaluation questions, materials, dates, availability, eligibility, and status may change before or during an Evaluation.
• Fright Guild may create later Evaluation versions when project material changes. An earlier Evaluation does not have to be erased or replaced by the later version.

Evaluation results, ratings, written feedback, and audience-interest signals may inform development, positioning, marketing, production, or business decisions. They do not bind Fright Guild to any particular decision.

Strong Evaluation results do not automatically greenlight a project. Weak Evaluation results do not automatically end one. Fright Guild retains responsibility for interpreting audience information and making creative, business, legal, financing, production, and distribution decisions.

Participation in an Evaluation does not create ownership, authorship, producer status, approval rights, creative control, investment rights, profit participation, or a right to have your suggestions adopted.

Fright Guild Content and Intellectual Property

The Fright Guild name, logos, branding, site design, project pages, copy, artwork, graphics, code, videos, concepts, page layouts, Evaluation materials, and other content on the site are owned by Fright Guild, its licensors, creators, or other rights holders unless otherwise stated.

You may view Fright Guild content for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, scrape, republish, sell, modify, distribute, publicly display, exploit, or create derivative works from protected Fright Guild content without permission except where allowed by law.

Project concepts, titles, artwork, loglines, descriptions, scripts, story materials, trailers, and other development materials are presented for audience discovery, Evaluation, promotion, development, or informational purposes. Access to those materials does not grant permission to create competing works, derivative works, merchandise, adaptations, or other commercial uses.

Some project material may be restricted to verified members, Society members, specific Evaluations, or other limited-access groups. Access restrictions do not change the ownership or confidentiality rights of Fright Guild or the applicable rights holder.

Evaluation Feedback, Submissions, and Ideas

Fright Guild may allow users to submit Evaluation answers, written feedback, messages, contact forms, survey responses, comments, project-interest information, or other user-provided material.

By submitting material, you represent that you have the right to provide it and that your submission does not violate law or the rights of another person.

Evaluation and product feedback

When you submit feedback, suggestions, ratings, or written responses through a Fright Guild Evaluation or feedback feature, you give Fright Guild permission to use, reproduce, analyze, summarize, aggregate, adapt, and internally share that material for purposes related to operating Fright Guild, understanding audience response, improving the service, and developing, positioning, marketing, producing, or evaluating Fright Guild projects.

That permission is non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, and does not require Fright Guild to use your feedback or compensate you for it. Our handling of personal information connected to your response remains subject to our Privacy Policy.

Unsolicited creative submissions

Unless Fright Guild creates a formal submission program with separate written submission terms, Fright Guild is not accepting unsolicited scripts, pitches, screenplays, treatments, business plans, artwork, project proposals, or confidential creative materials through the website, contact forms, or Evaluation open-response fields.

If you send unsolicited creative ideas or materials anyway, you agree that they are not confidential, no fiduciary or special relationship is created, and Fright Guild has no obligation to review, return, protect, compensate, develop, or use them.

Do not place confidential scripts, pitches, trade secrets, private business plans, or other sensitive creative material into an Evaluation response unless Fright Guild has specifically requested that material under separate terms.

Fearport, Products, Purchases, and Future Paid Features

Fright Guild may later offer products, merchandise, posters, collectibles, physical media, digital products, paid events, subscriptions, Society membership, or other paid features through Fearport or third-party services.

Any paid product or service may be subject to additional checkout terms, refund policies, shipping policies, subscription rules, taxes, eligibility rules, or third-party platform terms presented at the time of purchase.

Product mockups, launch boards, placeholders, concept drops, future-benefit descriptions, status labels, and coming-soon pages are informational unless a live purchase, reservation, ticket, subscription, or checkout flow clearly states otherwise.

A Society membership, if launched, may provide additional access, content, events, secondary creative polls, or other benefits. Society membership does not increase the weight of an official Evaluation response.

Events, Screenings, Livestreams, and Community Activity

Fright Guild may promote or host events such as livestreams, screenings, watch parties, Q&As, conventions, appearances, community gatherings, or future Scratchfest-related events.

• Event details, dates, times, locations, guests, access rules, and availability may change.
• Some events may be public, Guild-member-only, Society-only, ticketed, free, online, in-person, or hybrid.
• Attendance may be subject to venue rules, ticketing terms, platform rules, safety requirements, age restrictions, or other conditions disclosed for the event.
• Fright Guild may photograph, record, stream, or promote events where legally permitted and appropriately disclosed.
• Registration does not guarantee that an event will occur exactly as originally described.

User Conduct

You agree not to misuse Fright Guild or interfere with other users, Evaluations, accounts, events, content, site operations, or services.

• No harassment, threats, abuse, impersonation, hate, spam, fraud, or deceptive activity.
• No attempts to manipulate Evaluation results, submit unauthorized duplicate responses, create fake accounts, bypass verification, or interfere with eligibility controls.
• No attempts to gain unauthorized access to restricted project material, other accounts, administrative systems, or nonpublic data.
• No malware, harmful code, illegal content, or material that infringes another person’s rights.
• No scraping, copying, reverse engineering, automated extraction, or automated use without permission except where such restrictions are prohibited by law.
• No activity that violates applicable law, third-party rights, these Terms, or reasonable site rules.

Fright Guild may remove content, exclude responses, restrict features, suspend accounts, or take other reasonable action when we believe conduct violates these Terms or harms the community, an Evaluation, the site, another user, a rights holder, or the Fright Guild brand.

Third-Party Services and Links

Fright Guild may link to or integrate with third-party services such as hosting providers, email providers, analytics services, form and spam-prevention tools, payment processors, ticketing systems, streaming or video platforms, social media services, embedded content, distribution partners, or other service providers.

We do not control third-party websites or services and are not responsible for their content, policies, availability, payments, security, representations, or practices. Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Copyright Complaints

If you believe material on Fright Guild infringes your copyright, contact us with enough information to identify the copyrighted work, the material you believe is infringing, your contact information, and the basis for your claim.

A formal DMCA notice process may require additional information. Fright Guild should establish and publish any legally required DMCA-agent information if and when its services require that process.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Fright Guild is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, available at all times, or free of harmful components.

Evaluation results are audience information, not a promise or guarantee of future creative outcomes, commercial performance, financing, production, release, or distribution.

Fright Guild does not guarantee that any project will be greenlit, produced, financed, distributed, released, licensed, profitable, theatrically exhibited, streamed, sold, completed, or continued. Project pages, Evaluation status, Project Lifecycle Status, launch pages, Studio Updates, and distribution discussions may describe current information, goals, plans, experiments, or future possibilities that can change.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Fright Guild and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, creators, partners, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from or related to your use of the site.

No Investment, Ownership, or Profit Participation

Fright Guild accounts, Evaluation responses, memberships, purchases, launch participation, event participation, feedback, project follows, or community activity do not create ownership in Fright Guild, any project, any film, any intellectual property, or any business entity.

Unless a separate written agreement signed by Fright Guild expressly says otherwise, users do not receive securities, equity, investment rights, profit participation, revenue sharing, producer credit, authorship, approval rights, creative control, distribution rights, or other property or financial rights by participating in Fright Guild.

Governing Law

These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless a different rule is required by applicable law.
