Privacy Policy
Your information.
Handled with care.
This Privacy Policy explains how Fright Guild collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit our website, create an account, join our mailing list, participate in Fright Guild Evaluations, submit a form, or interact with our services.
Overview
Privacy matters to the Guild.
Fright Guild is a fan-powered horror studio and community. We collect information to operate the website, manage member accounts, run project Evaluations, maintain participation history, send updates, respond to messages, improve the site, and support future Fright Guild products, releases, events, and services.
We aim to collect only what we need, use it for clear purposes, and avoid making promises that are broader than what we can responsibly support. This page should be reviewed by legal counsel before public launch.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Fright Guild, we may collect the following types of information:
- Account information: name, email address, username, login information, verification status, and account preferences.
- Evaluation information: the Evaluation and related project you participate in, Evaluation type and version, ratings, written feedback or other answers you submit, completion status, timestamps, and information used to enforce one completed response per eligible member for an Evaluation.
- Participation history: records of Evaluations you have completed and other account-connected activity that may be shown in your Dashboard or used to operate member features.
- Contact form information: name, email address, message content, selected contact reason, and any information you choose to submit.
- Email and newsletter information: email address, subscription status, delivery activity, and basic engagement information.
- Technical information: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages visited, referring pages, timestamps, and server logs.
- Future purchase or event information: if Fright Guild later offers paid products, memberships, tickets, physical media, or other commerce, we may collect order, shipping, billing, registration, and transaction-related information through payment, commerce, or event-service providers.
Please do not submit sensitive personal information through forms or open-response Evaluation fields unless it is necessary for your request or participation.
How we use information
Fright Guild may use collected information to:
- Create, verify, maintain, and secure member accounts.
- Operate Fright Guild Evaluations and prevent duplicate, unauthorized, or otherwise invalid Evaluation responses.
- Associate Evaluation responses with the appropriate project, Evaluation type, and Evaluation version.
- Show Evaluation completion history, Dashboard information, and project-related updates to eligible users.
- Analyze Evaluation responses in individual or aggregated form to understand audience reaction, project strengths, weaknesses, confusion, interest, and development trends.
- Send account emails, verification emails, newsletters, project updates, launch notices, and service messages.
- Respond to questions, support requests, media inquiries, partnership inquiries, and other messages.
- Improve the website, page performance, user experience, security, and content strategy.
- Plan future launches, events, Fearport activity, releases, audience development, and distribution-related campaigns.
- Protect Fright Guild, users, Evaluation integrity, website integrity, and legal rights.
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal process, or enforceable requests.
Evaluations, membership, and community features
Fright Guild is built around audience participation. Official project Evaluations may require a signed-in, verified Fright Guild account. When you participate, we may store information connected to your account so the system can confirm eligibility, enforce the allowed number of responses, preserve your completion history, and protect the integrity of the Evaluation.
An Evaluation may include numeric ratings, multiple-choice answers, viewing-intent information, and written feedback. Written answers are information you choose to provide and may contain details beyond the standardized rating questions.
Evaluation data may be analyzed or reported in aggregated form to understand audience response, compare versions of project material, identify development patterns, and inform Fright Guild creative and business decisions.
We do not intend to publicly identify an individual member with that member’s specific Evaluation answers unless we clearly ask for permission or provide a feature where the member chooses to share them.
Society membership, if launched in the future, may provide additional access or features, but it does not increase the weight of an official Evaluation response.
